You need to have the right kind of holiday though, and make sure you know what to expect, so you won't actually end up feeling more stressed and ill at ease. If you are really looking to relax, it might be a good idea to go somewhere that you have visited before, so that you can know what to expect in full when you get there. In another country where you don't speak the language and there are various different transport options, you might actually find yourself feeling out of your depth.

Choose the location wisely for your holiday as well. Make sure you have the right facilities for relaxing, whatever that might mean for you. If you are in need of some me time, then consider hiring an apartment for the ultimate peace and quiet.

The History of Osaka Castle, Japan

One of the most beautiful and well constructed castles in the world, its hard to imagine that Osaka Castle was used as a building of war. It remains a popular tourist destination for those visiting Japan.

Osaka Castle started construction in 1583, on the former site of the Ishiyama Honganji Temple, after its destruction by Oda Nobunga. It was the largest castle at the time, and was intended to be used as a centre of a new unified Japan under the rule of Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

A few years after Hideyoshi's death, Tokugawa troops attacked and destroyed the castle and terminated the Toyotomi lineage. Osaka Castle was rebuilt by Tokugawa Hidetada in the 1620s, but its main castle tower was struck by lightening in 1665 and burnt down.

The castle tower was rebuilt, and is now entirely modern on the inside and even features an elevator for easier accessibility. It houses an informative museum about the castle's history and Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

Algarve Holidays - Finding the Right Accommodation

The Algarve is one of Portugal's most popular holiday destinations. In fact, it might even be considered one of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe because of the variety it offers to holidaymakers. Many people from all walks of life will be able to enjoy a holiday in the Algarve, but it is important that you find the right accommodation for your needs.

Many holidaymakers choose to stay in holiday apartments. Having an apartment rather than a hotel can feel like a home away from home, giving you a few more luxuries than you might otherwise experience. There are lots of apartments available in the Algarve that will give you the opportunity to enjoy your holiday to the full.

How to choose an Algarve holiday apartment that is suitable for you

The most important thing is to work out what is going to be most important for you. There are many beautiful apartments you can select in Portugal, so the final decision will depend on what you are looking for. These are some of the main points you should consider:

  • How important is location? Think about whether you want to be close to amenities - if you are hiring a car on your holiday, this may be less important for you. It may be cheaper to book an apartment that is less central, which is why some people choose this option.
  • What do you want in the apartment? Think about the facilities that really matter to you. Is it essential you have a swimming pool? Would you prefer to have a balcony? Do you need to have cooking facilities so you can make your own food?
  • How much do you want to spend? You need to tie this in with the amenities you want within you apartment. If you are looking for all the luxuries, expect to pay for them. The Algarve is very popular and you will pay a reasonable amount for good accommodation.
  • Who are you travelling with? If you have a family, make sure you choose somewhere that is suitable for children and will be safe and accessible.
Finding suitable apartments for your holiday

The Algarve is a popular destination and you will need to book in advance. Make sure you start looking for your holiday months in advance - as soon as you have booked your flights, start looking for apartments. This is how you will secure the best prices - by booking early.

Lots of people choose to book an apartment in a tourist village, or within an apartment complex. This means you will be with other families in a safe and comfortable environment. There will also be lots of different facilities, such as swimming pools, restaurants and shops.

Choose an apartment that is close to the activities you want for your holiday. If you want to try out some sports, then you will want to be close to a beach or activity centre. If you are looking for a relaxing break, think about the locality of beaches and swimming pools.

Booking People's Flats on Air BnB

Air BnB gives travellers a new way of finding holiday accommodation. People add their own personal properties and rent them out as somewhere for people to stay. This gives them the chance to make some money from their property, and it can often be cheaper for tourists than booking a hotel or an apartment designed specifically for tourists.

There are many perks to Air Bnb. It is like staying with a local, so the person who owns the property will often be close by and can give you tips on places to visit. It's also very convenient for many people having an apartment rather than a hotel, as there will be cooking facilities and plenty of private space.

However, there are some downsides. Make sure the property is safe - check before booking whether it has a smoke alarm. Make sure you read the reviews left by other travellers to learn about their experiences.

Can you Still Fly with Ryanair?

Over the last few months, Ryanair have been getting some very bad press. Much of this is linked to pilot shortages, which cause the airline to cancel thousands of its flights, letting passengers down at the last minute. Some were already on holiday and could not get back. Others had not left but only had one part of their journey cancelled, making it more challenging for them to get the money back on their flight.

So is it still possible to trust Ryanair? It's not certain - if the pilot shortages continue, the airline could be in trouble. However, if you did book a flight and something went wrong, you would be entitled to your money back, so there isn't too much to worry about there. Just be careful when booking accommodation, in case you can't get the money back on this. Make sure it is covered by your travel insurance before booking.
