Based in the Costa del Sol, Malaga is the six largest city in Spain with a population of over 550,000 people. Known for having a subtropical-mediterranean climate, Malaga’s summer season lasts 8 months of the year. With history spanning back to 770 BC, it is known as one of the oldest cities in the world. Founded by the Phoenicians as Malaka, it was then ruled by the Roman Republic, and then the Roman Empire who named is as Malaca. The empire then fell and was under Islamic Domination for 800 years, renaming the city as Malaqah. It then came under Christian rule in 1487. There are archaeological remaines from the Phoenician, Roman, Arabic and Christian eras which make the center of the city and open museum.
