With a metropolitan population of 1.5 million, Seville is the fourth largest city in Spain. Known for having the hottest temperatures in Europe (35°C average in Summer), the city is home to a harbour 50 miles away from the Atlantic Ocean. The city is over 2,200 years old and is known for having a distinct personality in terms of architecture. There’s also a well-preserved historical centre which is very popular with tourists. One of the main landmarks of Seville is The Cathedral of St. Mary, which was originally built as part of a Mosque, but was then added onto by Christians. The other popular landark is the Alcazar or Seville which is the oldest royal palace still in use in Europe. The new season of ‘Game of Thrones’ is scheduled to shoot scenes inside the Alcazar.
